This searchable database includes effective property tax rates and per-person (i.e., "per-capita") values for the spending, debt and tax levels of counties, cities, towns and villages throughout the Empire State, excluding only New York City. You can use this search form to find useful data for any single local government, to create categorical rankings of local governments statewide or by region, and to compare several local governments to one another.
Click the "Select" button below to choose among these options:- Get Single Benchmark generates a list of values for a local government entity you choose along with averages for similar governments on a regional statewide basis.
- Get Benchmark Comparisons allows you to select and compare a number of local governments in the same category (towns, villages, cities or counties).
- Get Rankings generates statewide and regional rankings, from highest to lowest numerical values, of local governments in the same category, for any one of 17 fiscal measures.
- Download All Data allows you to download Excel spreadsheets containing the entire database.
